Living in Ocean City
At the southern end of the city is the resort's main parking area, which is also the beginning of the city's two-and-a-half-mile long boardwalk. The boardwalk is home to many of the resort's most well-known food choices, including such mainstays as Fisher's Popcorn and Thrasher's French Fries, to the popular Dumser's Dairyland and many, many more. On the southern end of the boardwalk is also one of Ocean City's oldest and most popular amusement parks: Trimper's Rides. Along with the Jolly Roger, this park still attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors every year.
Ocean City real estate has also become a haven for fishing in recent years, leading to its moniker as the "White Marlin Capital of the World." Every August, the resort hosts the White Marlin Open, with fishermen from all over the world descending on southern Maryland attempting to win a share of the sizeable prize pool. Like most Atlantic coastal towns, Ocean City boasts more than its fair share of annual festivals. These popular yearly events include Sunfest, Springfest, Bike Week and the Christmas season's Festival of Lights. Also a hotbed of activity is the Roland E. Powell Convention Center, which hosts events ranging from the annual World Championship Wildfowl Carving Competition to concerts featuring some of the nation's most well-known artists and sporting events like boxing and professional wrestling.
Ocean City homes for sale are part of a beach resort that never sleeps during the Memorial Day to Labor Day high season. It's high energy and never ending fun in the sun, so be sure to check it out on your next visit to the Delaware beaches.
